Amazing Fire Boats Festival 2017 in Luang Prabang

The timeless city,  Luang Prabang, Laos is well known of the charming and beautiful city surrounded by mountains and rivers (Mekong River and Nam Khan River).

Annual festival that comes along with the End of Buddhist Lent (The Fifth Full-moon of Eleventh Month of Lunar calendar) which this year was on October 5, 2017. The following day, all the town would celebrate Lai Heua Fai (Fire Boat Release) or Fire Boats Festival.

Houses and temples were decorated beautifully by candle lights and colors papers that made in the form of many symbols such as star, naga, bird, and many others.  The highlight is Fire Boat competition which participated by many village and companies that build the most beautiful creature boats that represent animals in the legend.

Along the street from Wat That Noi to Wat Xiengthong, people are gathering both local and visitors to witness the parade which full of charm and showing the real tradition that you could find no where on earth. Luang Prabang has done this event specially and it from their hearts and solidarity of  Luang Prabang
